Art Plays A Part is dedicated to supporting Art for Kids. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to sharing the expression of art for kids of all socioeconomic backgrounds, providing art supplies, volunteers and art teachers for underserved communities. The arts play a critical role in the development of a child’s mind to enhance creativity, listening and thinking skills, collaboration with others, develop self worth, excel in school, and improve their outlook on the future.
The benefits of art education is outlined in the Champions of Change – The Impact of the Arts on Learning (Summary) report that was created by Presidential Executive order in 1982 to encourage private sector support and to increase public appreciation of the value of the arts and the humanities. Art Plays A Part was founded with art for kids in mind so this report has been incredibly influential in our actions for supporting Art for Kids.

The best way to volunteer your time is by sharing the type of art that you are most passionate about with the kids/teens in a workshop (length of workshop is based on your availability). Whether that’s filmmaking, acting, writing, dancing, storytelling, painting, drawing, making collages, personal finance, computers, etc…
Assisting a class that is being taught is an excellent way to volunteer also.
We’d be thrilled if you’d like to be an advocate.
